MY BEFORE-AFTER

I hope this site will encourage moms who feel at a loss on what to do about their bellies. Some might say it is shallow to be so concerned about body image, but I disagree. Not only are there medical implications associated with DR and other core issues, it's also a self-esteem issue. I also want to especially encourage moms who are YEARS postpartum. My youngest was in elementary school when I started MuTu. I get it, life gets busy! DR is usually a puzzling journey because traditional exercise often does not help or can even make it worse, and then once you understand the issue you have to have the time, dedication and motivation to do something about it. Healing DR and other issues can be a very slow process and it can be discouraging at times but remember, there is hope! I tried several programs before finding MuTu and I hope you find MuTu works for you too!

My Story
Anchor 1
I NEVER would have imagined I would be putting photos of MY BELLY online, but I want you to believe that I understand this and feel your pain, I've been there, and I want you to know there is hope! Be sure to see the testimonials from other moms! I am finding success with the MuTu System's program and advice! I'm still a work in progress, but much progress has been made! Disclaimer: I believe MuTu works and am promoting the system through their Ambassador Program so if you decide to order, please use the links provided on this site.

Two years after starting MuTu, my gap has shrunk from more than about 2.5 finger widths to 1 finger width and the gap depth is much shallower. As you'll learn, it's not all about the gap! The miserable and uncomfortable sensation of having my stomach pooching out from internal pressure has subsided. My weight has basically stayed the same but I feel stronger and although I didn't take measurements, you can see by the photos my stomach has a noticeably improved shape now.

It can still be challenging to find pants that fit well, but I don't even remember the last time I've been asked about being pregnant!  I have this shelf/loose tummy skin overhang which I will probably always have since I carried my large babies like torpedoes in my belly, as a friend of mine would say, so I was really stretched! My goal is to continue with the core exercises to further shrink the overall pooch.

Along with the workouts, I focused on two of the easy changes MuTu System recommends that I believe helped me greatly. 80% of the time I wear shoes without heels to help with body alignment and I drink bone broth regularly to help restore connective tissue. Everyone is different, and MuTu has many different pieces of advice. You may choose to do everything or pick out a few that seem to work best for you.

Same underclothes, approximately 7 years postpartum and 2 years after fairly regularly doing MuTu.

Still a work in progress, but much improvement! Looks deflated, right?! More photos below!

My Journey
My journey started with the frustration of trying to figure out what was wrong with me (doctors didn't seem to be concerned and attributed it to the general postpartum body). Once I discovered on my own what was wrong, I tried a poor and unrealistic program, leading to more frustration. I tried another program that was gentle and somewhat helpful but didn't seem to be quite enough. I thought I would just have to live with looking pregnant still.

I just happened to switch doctors and she was concerned enough to refer me to physical therapy where I worked on pelvic floor conditioning basics, but there were limits on what they did for generic "abdominal rehab." As you'll learn with Mutu, if you aren't addressing your whole body issues, results likely won't be as successful. Physical therapy reignited my search for answers. I came across research by Katy Bowman (check out her newer DR book if you REALLY want to know about DR in-depth) which led me to MuTu System in 2016.

I hated to spend more money on another program, but I felt better that it came with a satisfaction guarantee and $167 is actually a great value! The program was doable and I was able to implement it into my life easily. I had a few setbacks such as hurting my back, life just getting busy in general and honestly just putting it on the back burner from time to time. It takes no more than about 15-20 minutes for the core program and you do not do it daily. But I have mentioned already progress is slow with DR, remember? It's true! There is no quick fix. You are working on correcting years of improper alignment and some pretty intense abdominal pressure forces, weakened muscles and connective tissue. Slow results can make staying motivated challenging, I know, but hang in there! It is so great to feel confident in my clothes and to know I am not going to have others ask me when I'm due! But most of all, having function return to my core is the best! Click to learn more or order!
